PERGOLUX pergola comes in standard sizes of 10′ x 10′, 10′ x 13′, 13′ x 13′, and 13′ x 19′. If you desire a different size than these, the pergola can also be easily customized to your specifications.
Adjustment of Height
To adjust the height of the pergola, the columns need to be cut. The columns are made of aluminum, which is a relatively soft material. The height can thus be easily trimmed using a miter saw with a wood blade if you cut slowly. Alternatively, you can use an angle grinder or a hacksaw. We recommend covering the cut surface with silicone or spraying it with zinc spray to prevent the aluminum from oxidizing over time.
Once the height is cut, you will need to thread new holes for the base plate. Tools for threading can be purchased a building supply store near you
Adjustment of Width
If you wish to customize the width of the pergola, this can be done in the lengthwise direction. The slats are positioned every 4 3/4″, allowing you to cut the beams between each of the slats. The width can be easily trimmed using a miter saw with a wood blade if you cut slowly. Alternatively, you can use an angle grinder or a hacksaw.
Once the beam is cut, you’ll also need to cut a rail at the top and the gutters to the same length. Finally, you’ll need to drill some new holes in the beam for fastening.
Warranty for Customization
If you customize your pergola, you will not lose the warranty for the pergola as a whole. You will only lose the warranty for the parts you customize.
Adjustment of Width
When adjusting the width, you will no longer be able to use our PERGOLUX Screens.
